Overview
Goff is currently designing the civil improvements for the $48 million, 51,000 sq. ft. K-12 school replacement project. The civil design work consists of site grading for a track & field area, access roads, parking lots, accessible pedestrian hardscaping, and playgrounds. Locating post-construction stormwater quality features in available areas of the site is also a part, capturing and infiltrating rain events into the pervious soil strata below. Incorporation of these features prevent degradation of downstream waters and will alleviate nuisance ponding onsite. They also must meet the requirements of the Collaboration for High Performance Schools (CHPS).
The currently active school will be demolished following the inauguration of the new school, but needs to remain active throughout construction. This, along with preserving many existing site features and vegetation, present unique challenges to the design team to be overcome during before printing the final set.
Design Completion & Construction Start: May 2020
