Overview
Goff provided construction documents and administration services for the civil engineering site design of a 19,000 sf addition to the 13,800 sf existing school, built in the 1980s.
Drainage and grading plans were provided, closely collaborating with the desired playground and building layout desired by the architect and landscape architect. The construction document scope also included stormwater quality mitigation features and documentation meeting the goals of CHPS, a measuring tool for ensuring high performance of K-12 facilities.
Compliance with CHPS is a requirement of the BEST funding source in the State of Colorado. During the construction administration phase, Goff responded to requests for information from the contractor and reviewed pipeline and concrete submittal items. Part of the project was improving adjacent Town streets; coordination with their staff was also a part. The challenges for the site improvements design included preserving very old and huge spruce trees and cottonwoods in the center and on the periphery of the campus.
